A Prayer for March 5h

My Abba Father, I come with empty hands 

And seeking only that I may perceive Christ- 

My Jesus, Savior, the One who redeems me.

The hours before me hold such unknown things

Your loving mercy is the guard over me.

You always design each day with gentle grace.

All-Seeing Lord of hosts,

I resolve afresh to trust the Righteous God;

Who always foreknows the end and starting place.

Give loving mercy if I fall into sin,

Or tested beyond my poor and puny strength. 

When tempted, display to me the escape door.

Grant holy power to bear what evils come.

If wicked attacks flare, may grace strengthen me.

O, God who observes,

Some people suffer and cry out seeking help,

So provide wisdom so that I perceive how

My Savior Jesus would have rescued them.

Give courage, power, and the purpose to 

Seek justice, mercy, and to do godly deeds. 

May every action that I do today be

Such worthy service that they clearly show 

My savior Jesus who came to ransom them

From endless judgment by his precious blood.

My Worthy God,

When today concludes, may I have served well

As worship offered to You, who beholds me.

My God and Father who rules in Heaven,

My sins are countless and without excuse.
But I found pardon in Christ my Savior,
And through his power, a life that abounds.
Help me love others as I do myself;
May I show mercy to those in weakness,
May I give comfort to those in distress,
Let my words strengthen those who fail.
Show me those people who need some kindness
Make my eyes open to their hearts today.
Use me to rescue those who are in darkness.
And through Your Spirit give me power,
To be a blessing and joy to others;
And by deeds proclaim Christ as my master.
So he may receive all praise and glory.

May God Watch Over Me, Prayer For March 24

God, You are my Lord and Master,
I am in awe of You, Father,
And bring to You my worship.
You made each one of us unique
Yet, You see and know me rightly.
Help my faith to be well-founded
And deep in Your Word, the Scripture.
When I sin may You please forgive,
And show me grace in my errors,
So I may turn from my mistakes.
In this day I need Your guidance
For I am prone to go astray.
In those times that I face danger
I hold Your hand and walk safely.
Guard me when the night brings terror
And watch for the noonday arrow.
Bear me up when I face trials.
Lead me as I walk life's journey.
Let Christ be the way I follow,
Help me look to Him each hour.
Give me a sense of Your presence
So I'll be true to You today.

O God, my Heavenly Father,
Your love for me is clear,
For You sent Your son, Jesus Christ,
To be my redeemer.
Help me to be able to live today
And every day, thankfully
For what You have done
And are doing for me.
In all my temptations,
Trials, and duties,
Teach me to see Your grace,
Which is sufficient for me
And seeking it to use it
Lest I fall into sin's darkness,
Or fail to obey Your command.
Help me to remember
That as Christ is light*
And his life has given me light
So I am to be a light**
To the dark world.
Let not my life deny You
While I confess You with my lips.
Increase my faith,
My hope and my love;
And use me just as You will,
Whenever and wherever
As Your instrument
For Your glory
And for the Gospel.

For March 9

O Father of all that lives, breaths, and dreams,
I'm grateful for the life You gave to me.
Make open my eyes to the peace and hope
That Jesus bought by his death on the cross.
The hour of Your great day must be near.
Let regret for the past not hold me back;
Its labors have taught to me the hard things,
Its errors are a voice to make me wise,
Its success is a light to show the way.
My weakness is what makes me reach for You.
In coming to You I learn the great cause;
Your image may be seen in each man's eyes,
And every man has his name on Your palms.
I'm thankful for those who lead us to peace.
Bless women and men who live to do good.
Raise prophets up to speak Your words of love.
And workers who will bend to the task of hope.
I affirm that I too must take Your plow-
Make worthy all acts I do in Your name.
Let nations bow and serve the King of Kings.
May Jesus, the Prince of Peace rule men's hearts.
Bring about the great day when all know God,
And mankind will know the joy of the Lord.

A Prayer For Blessing, A Prayer For March 20

My Father in Heaven I come seeking
And asking for blessings that You offer.
I’m present no reason but Your mercy,
My basis is only he who suffered,
For Jesus is every hope I possess
Of having a standing in Your Courtroom.
It’s certain that blessings have been waiting,
But sinful ways become a stone fortress
That stifles Your mighty hand of favor.
Please forgive my folly that so offends,
And provide the power to live holy.
I believe You're longing to give blessings,
But without some stingy or weak motive-
You await my asking and my seeking.
Your goodness is because You are gracious;
Not reward for efforts to be righteous.
May every act declare I am grateful.
Bless common tasks, daily chores, and duties.
Bless struggles for service for the Shepherd.
Bless attempts to render good to others.
Bless labor in building Your True Kingdom.
When blessings are given I may become
A blessing that courses out to many.

To Live Worthy of the Gospel, A Prayer for March 12

O My blessed God and Father,
I bring worship for Your mercies,
And for blessings that You bestow.
You are watching as a shepherd;
With hand ready for quick rescue,
Though I often choose to transgress.
Give me power by Your Spirit
To live holy and be faithful.
Make me able to flee folly;
For to rebel is to betray
Him who suffered as my scapegoat.
Make me mindful You are watching
With love showing me my weakness
For Your purpose makes me complete.*
Be the freedom from my worries.
Help me subdue my bad desires.
Help me deny sin an entrance.
Let me refuse to be idle-
But be passion for Your service;
Make me willing to do kindness
And to offer acts of goodness.
Let me unite with those naming
Christ as Savior and True Master;
Help us labor for Your kingdom,
That the knowledge of Your Gospel

To Be Faithful In Living For God, A Prayer for March 18

God and Father, You know all there is.
As I wander through this day of life
I know trials lurk close by for me,
And snares await to make me turn back.
I am mindful that I need Your strength
Be my helper, my guide, and my friend.
Give me courage through Your strong right hand.
By Your wisdom, I find light and truth,
In Your presence, are joy and comfort.
Show me mercy when I fall in sin.
And the insight to see where it lies;
Help me resist sin in Your Name.
Make me patient in each test that comes.
Make me cheerful to bear my load.
Let Your Spirit guide me to trust You.
Help me perform some good this day
To the glory of God and to His praise.
Make me perceive where I may give aid,
And make gentle the words of my mouth.
Help me strengthen those who are weak.
Let me forgive as Christ taught us to.
Keep Your promise of life to the full.*
Let these blessings come by Your grace.
For as worship I would live life well.

O God, Father, and light;
Direct me by Your truth,
Free me from every doubt,
Make me stand in truth's light.
Send light to my thinking.
Help my faith to deepen.
Teach me how vast You are.
Deepen my faith in You,
I know You will call me;
And draw me to service,
And to give You worship.
Teach me Your way of love,
May I live forgiveness.
Thank You for the freedom
Which You give me in Christ.
May I see none as lesser;
But practice brotherhood.
Teach me to be gentle,
Caring for others' faith;
And not to judge any
For their experience.
Grant that I do some good

Lord search my heart to the last edge

A little commentary:
We need God to cleanse us so we may be ready to serve him in holiness. Our service starts with a bold prayer. He leads us to the place where we may serve.

Prayer for March 13

Heavenly Father, Giver of Life.
You sent Jesus, whose death gives life.
By faith in Christ I find a new life,
Where serving You is such blessing.
Manifest Your life in mine today;
Fill me with the assurance of faith,
Which You said overcomes the world.*
Give to me the fruit of a glad heart,
A peaceful spirit and of clear thought.
Take me gently through my daily task,
Help me to meet every fair demand.
Show me the large meaning of small things.
Teach me to find beauty everywhere.
May I know Your presence through the day,
And sense Your love ever about me.
May I walk in the steps of that love,
And by love bless the lives of others.
I rejoice in Your sheltering care.
You lift me above all that depress;
And carry me through darkest trials.
When this day is done may I look back
And see how You blessed me today.

A little commentary:

God gives us life but our sins have robbed us of the best that life has for us. Jesus died to pay for our sins so we may be restored to God. He blesses us when we accept his blessing of salvation. His blessings start in our hearts and he begins to make us new creatures in a new life.

Prayer For A Full Life, Prayer for March 1st

Dear God, You are infinite Life.
You breathe life into my flesh.
In You, I find my true being.
Give me a sense of gratitude,
And reverence for Your gift of life.
Grant me joy in living each day.
Give me a sense of wonder,
For the beauty of life You give.
Be my Great Companion today,
Bless me with guidance by Your light.
May I learn to know You better
Through events I experience.
May I give the best of my mind,
And full heart to the tasks I face.
Guide my mind to good and pure thoughts,
And busy my hands with kind deeds.
Keep me from unworthy actions.
Help me see You in all I meet.
May I do no one any harm.
Teach me that happiness is found
Best in making others happy.

A Prayer For March 16

Dear God, You alone are life,
And the giver of all life.
I thank You that You are love.
From You are joys and blessings.
I bless You for Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for my sin,
That I may live by his blood.
I rejoice that through prayer
I have fellowship with God.
Thank You for Your promises,
And the gift of the Spirit.
Let my life be truly spent
As a living thanks to You;
Strengthen me in my weakness,
May I conquer temptation,
And stand firm in my witness.
Help me do good to others,
May I do it as to You;
And help bring forth Your kingdom.
May peace follow in my steps.
Help me to remain faithful,
To my Savior, all my days.


"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work growing in the knowledge of God."  Colossians 1:10, NIV.   

A little commentary:

We have been given a gift of life and how we live is our expression of our gratitude for that gift. It is the noblest thing we can do to live a life worthy of the life we have been given, but it is beyond noble and becomes worship to live a life worthy of the Lord who gave his life so we may have eternal life.

Adoration Prayer, From One Who Depends On God.

Dear Lord, My Friend and Eternal Savior;
I am your child and I come before You,
To look on Your face in adoration-
Wondrous is the love You have for me!
You wait for me to draw closer to You.
Without You, my life would have no center.
I find my peace only in Your presence,
And true happiness is in serving You.
I'm blessed to know that You are with me.
My heart finds its gladness in Your presence.
Let the sunshine of Your face clear all gloom.
I sing in the joy brought by Your spirit.
Help me to love others as You love me,
To be gentle, selfless and forgiving.
When I face troubles bring peace to my heart.
Grant me victory when I am tempted.
When I am sick embrace me in Your arms;
When I stray, O Dear Shepherd, search for me,
And bring me back to joyous fellowship.
Guide my thoughts to be wise, pure and holy,
So my actions will be pleasing to You.
Daily help me to become more like Christ.

We are Children of the Heavenly Father but while we know in our minds it is so our lives say otherwise. Children are dependent and trust their parents and we need to have that same attitude with our Father in heaven. We wander away from many blessings and good in our lives by having a stiff-necked self-seeking approach when we really need to take time and look in the face of Jesus who loves us. We depend on God even if we don't admit it- we depend on him for every breath we take and every meal we eat and each morning we see.

O God, Giver of light, life, and grace
I thank You for the times of wonder,
And lessons learned on the mountaintop;
But visions do not ensure success,
Nor age guarantee a strong faith.
I must confess I have my doubts,
And come to You with big questions.
I know that all things are possible
To him who believes and prays in faith,*
But I am not confident in this.
Deliver me from my unbelief
And undo my doubts by Your true light.
Draw me closer and closer to You.
Give me faith through Your Word of Truth.
Be You the disproving of my fears;
That I may be filled with confidence,
And let my companionship with You,
Be the power that changes my heart.
May I dwell in the wonder of God;
Where You will be my continued joy.

We all have moments or even seasons of doubt. We get our eyes off of God and focus on ourselves, or our trials or difficulties. I do not belittle anyone's challenges, I know our testing is very real and mortal. Faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from the word of God.  Faith is exercised in service, giving and prayer. Our doubts are dealt with in the person of God; we must draw nearer to God through Bible reading, the meditation on His Word and promises, prayer, and service- these are the antidote to doubt.

A Prayer of Devotion And Hope A Prayer for March 30

Almighty God and Eternal Lord Of All,
I come only on the merits of Your Son
In whose exalted name is my only plea,
And for his sake do You hear prayer and answer.
What infinite grace You have given mankind-
O, what manner of love! O what compassion!
My soul adores You, and my heart worships You
For all You are and of all that You have done.
I praise You for the Son, my Savior, Jesus
And how that he has become my everything.
When I contemplate his life and his passion-
I am filled with joyous adoring wonder,
And put all my hope in the cross of Jesus.
Create in me a simple faith in Your love,
And teach me that none of Your words will fail.
Increase my little faith that I may serve You well.
Show me Your glory that I may proclaim You.
Give me some small task to do in your name,
That I may bring glory to you, God Most High,
And become a blessing to my fellow men.
Speed the day when Your kingdom comes to this earth.
May all men long for Jesus to take his throne
And reign gloriously in justice and truth.
In the name of Him who loved all lost sinners
And gave Himself to pay for every man's sins,

Amen.

A little commentary:

We need to take time to ponder the wonders of God. We should give him worship and praise. We should not only count our blessings but count how many ways God is our blessing. We need to live a life with service to God as acts of worship. I suggest you think this prayer for a time and pray it in your own words.

Prayer For The Power Of Forgiveness In Me Prayer for March 21

Help me, Father, to draw near as Your child.
Give me a deep desire to seek Your face.
Remove the barriers that keep me from You.
Be merciful and forgive my transgressions.
Cleanse my heart by the power of Your Spirit,
Free me from sin that I may better see You,
And I will rejoice in Your loving mercy,
And bring glory to Your Holy Name.
May I live the truth that I am dead to sin,
And made alive by Christ unto righteousness.
I have been forgiven much, so help me respond
By forgiving those who have wrongs against me.
Your forgiveness frees me to serve others,
And do good by the power of Your Spirit.
Let me be a blessing to those who struggle,
And act as You would- with love toward all men;
Help me keep my eyes on the heavenly goal
Of introducing Your mercy to others.

A little Commentary:  This prayer is full of truths. We all need to be forgiven and we must thereafter become people who forgive. We start with our dependency on God and going right into the need to seek God to become more intimate with him. We must be sensitive to those things that keep us from God, call them sin, or whatever we have to deal with them effectively in order to open the power of forgiveness in our lives. We all need to make confession and accept God's forgiveness. We should be humble before God. We need to be forgiving and have a servant attitude, and to love. Our lives should be holding God's hand in one of ours and reaching out to other people with our other hand.

A Prayer for Empowerment, A Prayer For The Day of March 4

Lord, You are The "Resurrection and The Life,"
Revive me by Your resurrection.
And grant me to live a life devoted to You.
Fill me with the power of Your Spirit
And renewal so I may celebrate Your gift of life.
Lift up my mind to high and pure thoughts.
Show me those things that quench Your spirit,
So I may repent and turn back to You.
Teach me to pray with true fervor.
May I hear Your Spirit speak through Your Word.
May all of my actions proclaim Your love.
May I tell how Your resurrection brings hope,
And not be ashamed to call Jesus mine.
May I follow Your way of humble love,
Holy service and sincere forgiveness;
And give myself to serve Your children.
May I work beside any who love Your Truth,
And bring Your light to this dark world.
Fill me with Your strength to face each day,
And bear up those who may have fallen.
May I do good only in Jesus' name-
And never seek for my own glory.

A Prayer for the Heart During Trial. 

Dear God, You shine the very dawn's light during my testing
Comfort me as I stumble solo through paths of grim shadows.
Teach me the trust of God which delivers from dreadful fear.
I confess that my faith in You has frequently faltered,
And I trusted in my own schemes instead of Your wisdom.
I regret that I have relied on my own weak efforts.
You have promised that the joy of the Lord shall be my strength.*
Teach me of the power of walking with You in purity,
And forgive my arrogant sin of doubting of Your love.
May I not worry- but be conscious of Your companionship
Guide me gently through another painful experience.
Grant me the heavenly peace of Christ in my anxious heart,
And lend courage and endurance for today's darkest test.
Renew and refresh me through faith to rest in Your grace
And prepare me to receive the fullness of Your blessing.
Lead me, to the green pastures and beside the still waters,
That my spirit may be restored at the well of Your Love;
For because of this test I will serve You more worthily
And to bring You glory in the name Of Jesus Christ.
AMEN
