A Prayer To Know Christ's Passion
A Prayer for October 7th

Teach me, my Father, to be thankful
For Your kindness and rich mercy.
Do not let adopt the wrong thinking
That has brought many to have regret.
Help me to endure when I'm tested,
And keep my focus on Your goodness.
Then I will declare God is able.
Help me to obey all His commands.

Let me walk among men with meekness,
That I may follow in Christ's footsteps.
Teach me the meaning of Christ's anguish.
Show me the manner of His passion.
Give me a fervor for His teaching.
And bring His beauty to all service,
For He went about in good doing.
I choose these actions as my worship;
So may You accept my life today
As a gift worthy of my Savior.

Against Sin, A Prayer. Prayer for October 30

Lord, You are the eternal true God,
And You are the creator of all
You are the redeemer of man
And from You, all bountiful good comes.
Give me the true repentance of sins,
For sins make a barrier to You.
Thank You that Christ's delivers from sin,
Faith in him is sufficient to save.
He died to give salvation to man
And he gives man righteousness to live.
Faith in him brings resistance to sin
For he has made victory from death,
And through death, he overcame all foes.

The prayer for strength against sin

By His cross, each citadel will fall
So sin should not dominate my life.
Life on earth brings transgressions each day
So, I seek Your forgiveness in faith;
Thank You that You securely hold me.
Give such strength to steadfastly stay close
And not fall through temptations and test.
Help me live out holiness for God-
That I, as all worshipers, praise You.

"Our Father," just to speak it
Is awesome for what it says.
It humbles the man of pride,
And raises the most low one.
My Father, I must thank you-
Or become mute to all words.
I'm grateful for all You give;
These blessings that have no bounds:
For giving the gift of life,
For soundness of health and mind,
For conscience that guides me right,
For freedom to serve You well,
And kinship through the Lord's blood.
I offer my heart to You
As worship for Him who died
To atone for all my sins.
Your blessings are too great to list;
But with boldness, I must ask
For courage to do right things
So others will give You praise,
For vision to see the work
Which blesses those who have need,
For power to turn from sin
To behold Your face in joy,

My Father, I thank You for blessings.
From morning light to grays of sunset
Your tender care and love give comfort.
With humble heart, I bow and confess
My many sins so You may forgive;
Grant mercy by the blood of Jesus
And power to grow in His likeness.
I devote to You all my being;
No matter where or at what hour.
Let every task that I may perform
To become an act of true worship.
May any soul I meet be refreshed
With courage, grace, cheer, hope, and comfort;
As Jesus through me loves them freely,
Thus leading the lost to my Savior.
You honor man by the high calling
To partner with God for good doings;
Give vision that I may be faithful,
With highest thoughts, and most true purpose,
That thereby earth be more like Heaven.

A prayer of Affirmation, A prayer for October 13

You are My True Father in Heaven
It is You who opens the morning,
And draws back the curtains of evening.
I come to You grateful for mercies.
It is You who blesses with favors.
You give strength of body for labor,
And give my mind clearness to reason.
You are my bright shield from evil
Your care for me never will fail;
Such love is far beyond all measure.
With love, You search over my goings,*
Like I am the only one living.
This love makes me respond with worship.
I will seek Your glory and honor,
And do for You every small errand.

I long to bring tributes of greatness

To my God who alone is worthy.

I make no choice without Your counsel,
And will not act before Your sanction.
Through Your name, I resist all tempting,

I thank You, blessed Lord
To be brought safely here,
For each day offers hope.
My heart brings grateful praise;
May my lips affirm You,
And my life declares thanks.
Help me to display faith
Through acts of gracious love.
Keep Your bright angles near,
Watch all my going out,
And guard my coming in.
Keep me from evil snares,
Guard me from foolish ways.
May I bear Jesus' light,
Where fear and darkness reign;
Help me to combat sin,
And may I support good.
Show me the needy soul
Whom I may gently love.
May Your true Gospel spread

Heavenly Father, You give life
And graciously sustain all living,
From You I come, I live and move.
I thank You, that faith in Jesus
Gives the sinner abundant life-
This is true life- to know Jesus.
Teach me the purpose of his life,
May I understand all his ways,
Experience His great power,
And recognize his purposes.
Forgive me for neglecting You
And serving my own agenda.
I squandered my life selfishly,
And sought life apart from Jesus,
Since only You give fulfillment.
I ignored the lost around me,
And kept Your light to myself,
I wasted my efforts and time
In pursuit of selfish life goals.
Teach me that by losing my life
In Your life, I will find full life.
Help me to walk in Your good grace.

Heavenly Father, You are my rock,
The strength of all who trust You,
Be present with me each day I pray,
Uphold my hands and guide my vision,
So I may give You my best service.
You understand all my weaknesses,
And remember that I am but dust
Give me Your strength for times I am faint.
Let me never fear to do Your will.
Each day brings temptations and choices,
Make me ready to meet each bravely
With clear faith in Your watchful grace
And earnest trust in Your wise purpose.
Help me to go about every task,
With my thoughts pure and words gracious.
May I give myself in helpfulness
To any of those with whom I meet.
Help me to make someone happier
By a kind word said or a deed;
So when the day ends, I may have joy

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35 NIV

A little commentary: There are many ways to serve. Here, I focus on serving God by serving those he loves, sinners for whom He sent his one and only son to die. Service of actions must begin in the heart. We need to guard our hearts against impure motives and blurred vision. Serving God will always bring us to face our weaknesses; he is the source of strength that we draw from when we serve him.

O Lord God, I come before you in the name of Jesus,
Who is the one way, the ultimate truth, and the pure life.
You are the awesome and great God- nothing compares to you,
And I approach You with humble reverence and holy fear;
For you are my Father, my Creator, and Redeemer.
Yet I come with the love and confidence of Your child.
I thank You for Jesus, my Savior, friend, and advocate,
Who was tempted in all points like as we are, yet sinned not,
And who can understand my weakness with compassion.
All good gifts are from You, and every blessing I possess,
All my hopes are in You for this life and eternity.
Thank you that You will not cast me away from Your presence.
Look upon me with mercy and cleanse me of all my sins.
I adore You and pledge fealty to my God and Father.
Teach me Your will and lead me in a plain path for my good.
Make me willing to be used in service to Your Kingdom.
Let my life inspire others to make Jesus their Lord.

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. John 16:37

There are so many reasons to be devoted to our God; he is our creator, and he has redeemed us by the blood of his dear son on the cross. He gives us blessing and grace. Jesus our Savior is our friend and advocate in heaven who is compassionate regarding our weaknesses. When we see our God and Savior as gracious and merciful to us who do not deserve it the proper response is to adore, serve and bring glory to his name.

A Prayer For Our Home, Prayer for October 2

Father, I thank you for this home you have placed us in.
May we find peace, protection, and love under its roof.
Bless our lives with the comfort of your Holy Spirit.
Forgive and forget our sins, for the sake of our Savior,
And cleanse us in his precious blood that was shed for us.
Let our family life become more and more Christ-like;
Make us to be a beacon in this community,
Showing others the way to the harbor of your love.
May your Spirit be present in fullness and power.
Send each one of us forth filled with the spirit of Jesus-
The spirit of unselfish sacrifice and service.
May we do acts of goodwill to all with whom we meet.
Strengthen us to do every proper task and duty.
Enable us to be true channels of your mercies,
And lead us into that pathway of life, light, and love,
In which we can best glorify you and serve others.
Let our service help bring the coming of your kingdom
And the crowning of our Glorious True King Jesus,
In whose wonderful holy name we pray and give thanks.

We find blessings in our lives when we seek to be blessings in the lives of others. We do not have the power to do good without the help of the help of the Holy Spirit so in my prayer above I look for the holy spirit to be the power in our lives. We as individuals families and communities have the purpose of bringing glory to God.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 NIV

Read this prayer slowly, meditate on each line, and pray the phrases in your own words. 

Infinite Father, You are my life, light and future,
You are my hope, and You alone are my redemption.
I have tried the world and found its promise empty;
You are willing to fill my soul with truth and mercy.
When I think about You, I find a song in my heart;
For the blessing of knowing You is beyond measure.
Thank You for the fruitfulness of these present days
For opportunities for improvement and service,
I thank You for You have planned all my future days 
And filled them with stores for my spiritual blessing,
Hidden delights and experiences for my growth.
May each day I do my part to advance Your kingdom.
Let not my folly stifle Your plans for good to me,
Or let any sin to darken the light of Your love,
Keep me from wandering from the way of Jesus.
Help me to seek You each morning for daily guidance.
Show me my sins so I may come to You for cleansing.
Strip away my petty shams and fortify my heart.
Let your Spirit finish the work of Christ in me,
Through the riches of grace in Christ Jesus my Savior.

Our future is already planned by a loving God who has our best in his heart. We do our best to seek not our plans for the future but to search His plans for us and fulfill His purposes for our best.  He has prepared blessings and tests for us for our good.

A Prayer For Blessing. A Prayer For October 19

Father in Heaven, God of all blessing.
I bless You that You are forever near.
Thank You for Your faithful protecting care
Thank You for Your mercy when I stumble.
And Your grace is sufficient to hold me.
I rejoice in material comforts,
And the blessings You have given to me;
I recognize Your hand in what is good.
Forgive my sins through the blood of Jesus.
Give to me Your mercy and forbearance.
Make me to grow in purity and truth.
Let me do my tasks in the fear of God,
And with a sense of Your presence with me.
I pray that You will bless me in my work,
And may I work for Your kingdom to come,
When goodwill, righteousness, and peace reigns.
And when the evening falls may I find rest
Confident in You who does not slumber.

There is nothing wrong or selfish to ask God to bless us. He desires to bless us. Often we rob ourselves by not asking. Some of our blessings are lost to us because of rebellion and sin; we must examine our lives to see if there is anything we need to turn from. The ultimate blessing is God himself in our lives. Put Him first and all the best will come.

Father God of Design and Purpose;
You created man for Your pleasure,
To bring You glory and to serve You.
May I serve You with all of my heart;
And not because I'm obligated,
But because You are gracious and good.
Make my service to You pure and true,
Not tainted by my own agenda.
Serving You is a blessing to me;
In it I find my life's true meaning,
And it is a joy to obey You.
Let me serve You with my every thought,
And with every deed of this one day.
May my service be pleasing to You,
And be a blessing unto others.
If You have for me some great mission
May I do it with awe and reverence;
If my service is in humble chores
May I do them well and cheerfully.

Father, thank You for Your rich blessings
And Your steady kindness toward me.
Each morning gives hope of success.
I want to start this day right with You,
Let me sense Your nearness and guidance.
Give me firmness in times of testing,
When I may find you there at my side.
May I walk in the path of Your will;
Knowing Your designs are for my good.
May Your wise purpose always guide me.
Let me not yield to temptation.
Give me solid resolve to do right,
Lend me strength for today's duties.
Guide me in school, home, and in business.
Bless the work and toil of this day,
That I may serve others as You would.
Prosper me in the fruit of my work.
Let me use my gains to bless others.
May Your Spirit be felt in my home,
And make it a refuge from toil.

Oh, God, in You is no hint of darkness, 

And no darkness can stand against Your light.

Help me to faithfully walk in Your light.
Direct me in every thought, action, and deed,
That I may show Jesus' love to those I meet.
Shine brightly where the darkness hides Your truth.
And let the sunshine of truth enter all hearts.
May Your light deliver those in darkness,
And bring hope to those who are in despair.

May the gospel message of Your love sing out;

In notes more clear and pure than ever before,

I commit myself to Your divine service.
I will lift the burdens of the downtrodden,
And work for the building up of Your kingdom.
May I faithfully bear Your banner of light.
And guide others toward You in this dark age.
Bring me safely through today's dangers and tests;
Firm in Your victory to this day's last glow.

Holy Father, in Heaven I thank You
For the sweetness and goodness of Your love.
You have always watched over my life,
Daily bearing all my burdens and fears,
Carrying my sorrows as if Your own,
And supplying all I need for my good.
I thank You, God, for Jesus my Savior,
For the blessing of the Holy Bible,
And for the church where I can serve Your sheep.
I praise Your name for the Gospel Of Love,
And for all who proclaim the good message.
I pray we all dwell together as one,
And act out the love which shows we are Yours.
May Your righteous and peaceful Kingdom come,
Till all men everywhere may know Jesus,
And live as He did, and love as He would.
Teach me always to be to be kind to others,
May I become tenderhearted, forgiving,
And patient, meek, gentle, good, and faithful.
May I by faith sense that Your sweet presence
Is helping me to do good unto all men.
