A Prayer for May 3rd

Lord, You are my Heavenly Father,
And You are the Wonderful Master.
From Your hand comes another morning,
And a day of bountiful goodness
I'll live it with devoted reverence
By word, deed, and sanctified choices.
To You, my heart surrenders praises
For all of Your measureless blessings
Of life, hope, and salvation's promise.
You are my sure protecting presence
And You are my comforting Spirit.
I give You my desires, longings,
And my dreams for tomorrow's pleasures.
I vow now to remember worship
And to give my devoted service
To Christ, the true Glorious Savior,
Show me how to magnify Jesus,
Who by love shall overcome nations,
And will rule an eternal kingdom.

Dear Lord, grant rest to the weary,
And peace to those who have sorrow.
Give hope to those who need comfort
And a home to the homeless ones.
Light the way to those in darkness
And give hope to the troubled heart.
Remember the ones who struggle.
See those who are overlooked.
Bring into Your arms the orphan.
Give courage to those who need it.
And shine the brightness of your love
Upon all those who are alone;
May they know how much you love them.
May they find their way to the cross
Where You died to restore the lost
To that flock of the Good Shepherd.

Your name is excellent and so awesome!
I come with thanksgiving, praise, and worship.
You are all glorious, and You alone.
Lord, You are merciful, kind, and loving,

To learn Your attributes gives me comfort.
I know You satisfy all my longings.
I am so unworthy of Your blessings.

God, to call You Father would be arrogant,

My Heavenly Father thank You for Your guidance;
Help everything become clear as I make choices.
I forever struggle to find a clear vision,
Give direction before I take the wrong pathway.
Faith increases because I keep eyes on Jesus,
But destruction enters my life when I wander.
Let popular standards go through the test of fire
Leave eternal values in my thoughts and motives.
Help faithfulness direct me to the way upward.
Keep vanity away and not stain my motives;
And diminish nothing that helps me to act noble.
The perishing world needs good men to triumph,
With righteousness, virtue, faith, peace, love, and wisdom.
May steadfastness resolve to make me faithful
To commandments pointing to love as my mission.*

My Heavenly Father, God of Light.
I thank You for Your loving kindness,

Gracious and most merciful Father
I come in the name of Him who loved
And gave himself for all mankind's sins.
I thank You for the light of Your Word
Which instructs and guides me on my path.
I thank You for the hope of this day
And it's opportunities for good.
Help me to fulfill Your commands
And to be faithful to Your Word.
In every task may You be felt near,
And in trials be my companion.
May I walk in the way of Jesus,
And so become more like my Lord.
Help me to be kind to those in need,
Use me to comfort the sorrowful,
To lift up the tired and lonely,
And to stand up for the oppressed.
Let me bring Your words of forgiveness
And light to those living in the darkness.
May the beautiful life of Jesus
Flow through me to bless others today,
And thereby win their hearts to his love.

When Jesus is in our lives and we are living in obedience his beautiful life flows from us to bless others. It requires devotion to him and his word, and it calls for the sacrifice of our own selfish desires, but when we are a blessing to others then we are blessed.

A PRAYER UNTO THE SOVEREIGN GOD, Prayer for May 21

Almighty God and Heavenly Father;
I come in prayer as Your unworthy child,
Accept this prayer and humble thanksgiving.
Forgive the wrongs I have done against You;
They are sins of thought, of word, and of deed;
May I grieve for them in godly sorrow,
And turn from them out of true conviction.
Give Your blessing on my efforts for good,
And provide the needs for soul and body.
Let Your Holy Spirit fill and guide me.
Command Your angels to guard me in peace.
Into Your hands, O God, I place my life,
Help me fulfill my duties and callings
With true confidence of mind and body,
And to do all things as if in Your name.
My Heavenly Father, I give You thanks
For all of Your many and great blessings,
And Your mercies to me and all mankind-

Prayer for Perseverance, Prayer for May 15

The way is long, Dear Father.
And sometimes, I am so weary.
For in the crowd, we struggle
And we bruise one another
In our hurry and passing.

Prayer for the Weary

Let me not forget the goal
In the melee and worry
Of the pilgrimage homeward.
Teach me to be still and trust You *
Renew me with fresh courage,
Gently whisper in my heart
Your encouragement for me;
And a song to cheer my steps
As I take up my burdens.
Give me a light conscience,
Forbid that I should do harm
Through neglect or intention.
May I always be ready
To bring the balm of kindness
To any of Your children.
Grant me the gift of clear sight
That pierces the fog of doubts
And worries of the moment.
Fill my mind with thoughts of Christ,
The Lord who bought victory
And carries me to my rest.
Let me dwell with confidence.
Upon the most ultimate-
The fact of Your boundless love.

* He says, "Be still and know I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth." Psalm 46:10.

A little commentary: We will face many times of struggle and defeat in this woeful world. We must resolve to never give up being light and goodness wherever we go. But like the moon has no light of itself, neither do we poor sinners. We only reflect the light of Jesus. We must cleave close to him to communicate his blessing to those around us. We must look to him as our strength to carry on the excellent work.

I hope my little poem/prayer is an inspiration to you, that it blesses your day and gives you something to reflect upon today.

PRAYER FOR THE LIGHT OF REVIVAL, Prayer for May 18

Dear Lord, help me live Your light each day.
And if dark hours of despair come
Help me to not forget Your power;
For "The joy of the Lord is my strength,*"
And comfort in the darkest hours.
In these times when I might turn from You-
Where many allurements call my heart-
Draw me from worldly attractions;
May I daily choose Your righteousness.
Let the power of Your Spirit fill me
And lead me from darkness into Your light.
May I sense Your close nearness always,
Let Your true fire burn through,my heart
Purging out the wickedness of sin.
Cause me to weep for my transgressions
Help me to resolve to repentance.
Though I fall often make me return.
May Your Word be a light to my path,
And a guide in all of my choices.
Help me to treasure Your precious Word
May its light shine on my every thought.
Fill my heart with Your love for others.
Forbid that I should judge anyone,**

May God's light shine in my life

For by such I myself be condemned.
Let me remember the time is short
And You will soon return in glory.
Help me to delight in Your coming.

God is light and in him is no darkness at all we must live in him and walk in the light he gives not our own concepts. Our sins darken the light in us and we must repent and turn away from them this is revival and it comes from living in the light of God's word and the power of the Holy Spirit.

May The Grateful Serve Joyfully, A Prayer for May 9.

O Lord, You are the righteous and true one,
Who fills heaven, yet sees the sparrow fall.
You are pure; Your ways are right and blameless.
You abide in heaven as the Lord Of All
And with one that is of a humble heart,
Who has a contrite and lowly spirit.
I bow before You, as do kings, and saints;
I humbly ask Your pardon for my sins-
Not by my virtue but through my Savior.
Thank you that so great is Your love for man
That You gave Your beloved son for our sins;*
So that any who believe might have life.
What joy that none can pluck me from Your hands!*
I pray that Your kingdom of love comes soon.
Let your will be done here as in heaven.
Grant salvation to the hearts of all men.
May all work for You in power and love.
Give me the grace and strength to serve rightly,
And to do my work, and all as Your praise.
Keep me from sin, or any transgression
That may cause hurt or sorrow to any.
I ask in the name of Him Who Served.

The Redeemed Serve With Gratitude

This prayer starts with worship as all prayer should. It reminds us of the need for humility and calls us to serve out of gratitude.  It is a humble pray of one who considers himself lowly before the Lord. The prayer acknowledges salvation is of God and not our efforts. The request is not self-serving but kingdom-centered, that God's kingdom may come and those who labor for it may be blessed.

Teach Me Your Truth O, God, Prayer for the day of May 1st

O God of all grace, Father of mercies,
You are the hope of every believer,
And the Savior of the penitent soul,
Hear my prayers although they are so unsure.
Teach me to say, "Let us draw near to God."
Knowing Your pure love removes every fear,
And gives me courage in any trouble.
You reveal Yourself in so many ways,
May I never discount any of them.
Let me see you in Your Word the Bible,
May I see Your skillful hand in nature,
May I sense Your heart in quiet prayer,
And your purity in a child's face.
Teach me for I know not truth by myself.
Show me things of this world in a pure light,
And divine things with open eyes of faith
Show me Your purposes in my struggles
Consecrate my whole life to your service.
Search me, Lord, and expose my corrupt heart.
Test me, and bring my thoughts to your light;
See if there be some wicked way in me,
And lead me in Your way everlasting.
Accept my thanksgiving and my praises
For Your generous blessing in my life.
Watch over me in Your guardian care.
If I eat, drink or whatever I do
May I do honestly in Jesus' name;
And find your revelation in the task.
May I know him who said, "I am The Truth..."*
And knowing him may I know him truly.

A little commentary:

Our world is in the hands of a deceiver and we need to search for truth in the world and the lives of those around us. God despises lies and deception, He offers to reveal truth to those searching for it. The greatest truth is his Son Jesus who said, "I am the truth the way and the life no one comes to the father except through me." (John 14:6). Truth should point to him and reveal him clearly.

A PRAYER TO BE GUIDED BY GOD'S HAND, A Prayer For May 11

My Father, You are worthy of all honor and praise,
And I desire to worship You in spirit and in truth;
Guide me to seek You in this quiet hour of prayer.
Your hand guarded me since I first called You Lord,
And beneath its shadow I am protected with care.
Now point my heart to the duties of just this one day.
May Your hand gently guide mine in all that I must do,
And in all that I do lead me to bring You glory.
Lift from my heart anything that may quench Your Spirit,
And may Your Holy Spirit overflow upon me.
Your have measured out to me undeserved blessings.
May my life be a living statement of gratitude.
Come and dwell in my heart as its master forever.
Hold me well lest I fall in temptation and trial,
And may Your strong arm be my shield from every harm.
When today is done may I look back and see Your hand.
When all my days are spent may Your hand lift me above.

This poem prayer was inspired by John 10:28, No one will snatch them out of my hand.

In this prayer, I reflect that God is holding us in his hand and by his hand he has provided for us blessings, met our needs and given his protection. The goal of our pilgrimage on the earth is to walk it as if we were children holding our Heavenly Father's hand on the path of life; so that he guides us over the rough spots and we enjoy him over the smooth places. We are already in his hand when we come to him through faith in his son Jesus and His atoning death and resurrection. To acknowledge the truth of God's provision, care, and guidance makes us ready to receive it in abundance and to recognize it where we may not have already seen it. We may ask God for guidance and not like the direction he is taking us but we must still live for God, glorify, and serve him. It is safe to put our hands in God's hand to have him move us as he sees fit, not only safe but wise. Our eternal hope is not in the working of the deeds done by our hands but by the piercing of his on the cross where he paid for our sin.

The Companionship of God, Prayer for May 8

Oh Eternal Loving One
How wonderful
To call you Father.
Yet I know You as Companion,
And the Friend.
Thank You for being with me
Every moment,
Help me to remember
You are here with me.
Thank You for the comfort
Your nearness brings.
May I hear the voice
Of Your Spirit today
And not quench His promptings.
Show my shortcomings gently
And teach me where to change.
Strengthen me to obey You today,
And bless my service to You.
Lead my mind to noble thoughts

You have done for me.
