A Prayer Of Trust, Prayer For January 21

A Prayer of Trust,  A Prayer For January 21

Lord, I know in You are no changes
And it is Your will to show yourself.
For all the days past I am thankful,
For this day I bring my praises,
And my trust for days that are coming.
I am sure that You are kind forever.
I can find You in the bright mornings,
But on black nights I sink in despair-
Yet you are the same God of mercy.
You long to show me Your good kindness.
You do not treat me as I deserve.
But You show grace when I face judgment
My heart would be taught by Your Spirit,
Who shows me who You are through Jesus;
For it is in Christ You are unveiled,
And through him, we are Your children.
So I will come to You as would a child-
To God who is my friend and Father.

The Prayer Of The Humble Servant, A Prayer For January 13

The Prayer Of The Humble Servant For January 13

My Father in Heaven I come to you
In humble words praising my Lord and God
I'm thankful for blessings that You have shown.
You've given me many good things in life,
I rejoice for every one with  thanks;
But forbid I forget my home on high,
The promise of Jesus' blood makes it mine,
And someday my Savior will greet me there.
Lord, provide me today my food and drink,
And nourish my spirit with the bread of life,
For Jesus will fulfill all of my needs.
Keep evil and folly far from my path
And direct me onward in The Good way.
Watch over my outlook that it be bright,
And within me create a new clean heart.
Let vision for doing Your will fill me.
May every task honor You- my Savior,
Let service and worship fill me with joy
So others will honor the God I serve.

Only Jesus, a Prayer of Devotion, January 16

Only Jesus, a Prayer of Devotion. January 16

Bless You, O God, for showing me Christ.
Thank You for Jesus' blood.
Your wrath is quenched in him,
Your judgment is satisfied,
My sin is forgiven, and
I am saved.
I bless You for Your faithfulness:
Each day Your Spirit gives strength,
Comforts, Teaches and directs me
Closer to Jesus.
May Christ be my rock,
And His Gospel my hope.
May my eyes be only on the cross,
Lest I add to the work of Christ,
For He alone is my salvation.
Let my motto be, "Jesus, only Jesus."
For he has set me free,
Blessed me with righteousness,
Eternal life,
And fellowship with the Father.
I will proclaim that,
"Christ is all I need."
Fill me with Him, O God-
Only him.

A Prayer To Faithfully Confess Jesus, A prayer for January 4th

To Faithfully Confess Jesus, For January 4th

My Heavenly Father, fill me with power
To overcome weakness that makes me struggle;
And enable within my heart new virtue
Which produces honor, peace, good, and kindness.
I quietly await light from Your Spirit.
May unbending belief in You give comfort.
Your promises always prove good and worthy,
And whatever guidance I need You provide.
May faithfulness become my goal and standard.
Where performance proclaims truth let me partner,
Let utterance declare where acts are lacking.
May confessing Jesus be my one passion.
Let salvation flourish where hearts are seeking.
May enduring praises to You be given,
In heavenly places, and in this world.

A Prayer Of The Gospel Messneger. Prayer for January 29

A Prayer Of The Messenger, Prayer For The Day Of January 29

Heavenly Shepherd, thank You for Your guidance.
Wandering away from You brings me troubles.
Whenever scripture speaks I ought to listen.
However, because I am weak I stumble-
Becoming slander and shame to the Gospel.
Forgiveness abounds through the blood of Jesus.
Continue helping me to be a witness;
Declaring only Christ in and out of season.
Deliver unto me a brave new spirit,
Becoming also wise when full of boldness.
Tragedy abounds in the lives of others,
Humankind struggles with loss, sin, and despair.
Almighty Father send your light in darkness,
Deliver hopeless souls from sin's prison,
Illustrate Jesus to those that are seeking.
Merciful Master use me as your herald,
Enable efforts on my part to present
Salvation's blessings to the ones who wander.

Prayer For Victory Over Near Evil, Prayer For January 27

A Prayer To Overcome The Evil In Your Own Life,

Prayer For January 27

You, God, overcame man's great foe,
And made righteousness a free gift.
Bar the enemy of man's souls
From all advantage in my life.
You are mightier than he is-
By Christ's sacrifice of his blood
The great victory has been won.
Let me recognize sin's dark lies.
Give me vigilance on my guard,
And be undaunted in my prayers;
For Your promises are my hope.
Let Your character be as mine,
That unselfish acts fill my path.
May Your holiness dwell in me
So no temptation take my peace.
Give me concern for all men;
May I consider their needs
To be superior to my own.
Let me remember I must serve
And that whatever I may do
Is to represent love for God,
And to testify, He is worthy.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 JKV

A Prayer For Struggle Against Sin, for January 28

A Prayer for the Struggle Against Sin, For January 28

Thank You God, I may call You Father;
No parent loves so deeply as You.
I confess my sin with much sorrow,
And acknowledge I have grieved You.
I want to only do what is good
But I find much evil lurks in me.
Thank you that I may confess my sin,
And know Your faithfulness to forgive.
I am grateful for blessings given;
Some I see, but others are hidden.
Thank you for watching over me
With care that I cannot understand.
Let me not give into temptation,
But to resist Satan in Your name.
Show me when to flee youthful passions.
I accept the aid of Your Spirit
And by faith will receive his power.
Fill my mouth with words that give You praise.
May I bring Your peace to all I meet.
Use me as a blessing to others.
Give me practical work of service,
A task that will occupy my hands;
Let my work be faithful unto You.
May I live rightly to honor You,
Abiding in fellowship with God.

James 4:17  2 Timothy 2:22

A little commentary:.
God's Spirit is a spirit of power, we have it in our lives when we are saved, we must be open to it and not quench it. We are more prone to temptation when we are not serving we must be busy in working for the Lord and his people.

Prayer For The Congregation Of Man, January 25

Prayer For The Congregation of Man, For January 25

Eternal Father of all,
Remember us Your children-
The creation of Your hand,
And the passion of Your heart.
Give aid to those in trouble.
Strengthen those weak in body.
Stand with ones who are tempted.
Lift up those who have fallen.
Give light to those in darkness.
Feed the ones who are hungry.
Be present with ones who doubt.
Give hope to those who suffer.
Watch over those in danger.
Encourage the lowly ones.
Arouse those who name Your name,
So they may answer Your call;
And by doing good among men
Bring glory to Your blessed name.
Let men of goodwill go abroad
And lift the burdens of others;
To help bring Your kingdom near,
When men will know brotherhood
Blessing the Lord and Father.
Then all will know Your great name
As water covers the sea.*

When we consider human suffering it brings up many questions. Perhaps prayer is one of the answers; we may not understand suffering but must pray for those who suffer. We must welcome opportunities to meet the needs of others. To be able to help meet the need of one of God's children is an act of service to God.

The future is a mystery, no one knows the day or hour of the coming of the Lord and we may only have now to do acts of service as these. We do know that day is coming and it may be that our actions will help it come in a way we do not understand. Let us pray and continue to do good for others.

A Prayer For Faith, Prayer for January 20

A Prayer For Faith, For January 20

Oh Lord, my God, increase my faith,
For by it I can move mountains.
Give me an immovable faith,
In the dark let it light my way;
May I keep it as my shield-
A defense against the dark foe.
By faith may I obey you;
Let it deliver me from fear,
And free me from anxiety.
May it teach me the way of life.
Let it give me the power to love.
May faith empower my actions
To kindness in words and in deeds.
Let it hold me up in sorrow,
Steady me in times of testing,
And keep me humble when praised.
May it give zest to my toil,
And goodness to my character.
Let faith gives voice to my prayer,
And give me a vision for heaven.
Let faith be my true companion
Through my pilgrimage here on earth
Giving comfort that You are near.
By true faith, I will walk with God,
And we will talk as a friend to friend.

A little Commentary:
I could have used a lot of other words for faith like trust, assurance, belief, and confidence but the faith I speak of is unique here to the active relationship with God.

Prayer for A Radical Life, January 10

A Prayer For A Radical Life, January 10th

Oh Lord God and Eternal Father,
Direct me to only think wise thoughts.
Put on my lips gracious and kind words.
Lift my hands to do saintly labor.
Teach me to treasure the gift of life.
Un-fog my vision to see the truth,
And to discern good from the evil.
May I take a stand beside justice,
And bring Your name to those in darkness.
Show me what cause I should undertake
To help my fellow man here on earth.
Show me how to be a true blessing;
First to my family, then to friends,
And to the stranger whom I should meet.
Help me to do every task with cheer.
Give me a spirit to be helpful,
Strengthen me to lift the woeful one.
Grant me not just peace in your great love,
But confidence in Your great power,
And joy in Your all-sufficient grace.
This day is designed by Your wisdom
Full of opportunities to give;
Let me live this day for Your good,
And so may I live all of my days.

The Prayer of Good Confession. Prayer for January 11

A Prayer Of One Who Makes Good Confession, January 11th

Read this prayer slowly and with reflective pause. Meditate on it and express it to God in your own words.

Heavenly Father I confess You as my God.
I acknowledge that I depend on Your goodness,
I thank you for your mercy, providence, and love.
I am unworthy of any of Your blessings.
I confess my sins and pray for Your forgiveness.
Thank You that Christ paid for all of my transgressions,
And that faith in him gives eternal salvation.
Let me know that You lead me with Your gentle hand.
Let my life be a declaration of Your grace.
I guard my actions so I may always see You.
Bless my service to those You love, my fellow man,
So that I may bring glory to Your holy name.
Make my heart steady and resolved to obey.
May my actions speak as the loudest confession,
And show such love that others will seek God's favor;
To the end that they find Jesus as their true Savior,
So they too may avow Jesus as their Master.
Help me to stand and make good my testimony.
Yes
I gladly proclaim Jesus alone is my Lord.

This prayer is for one who is bold about telling others that God is their God and Jesus is their Lord. We can be bold in word and also bold in life, which may be the greater confession. As in all things we need God to be our helper even in obedience to Him and service to others.

Prayer For Strength in Decision, January 6

A Prayer For Strength In Decision, January 6th

My Gracious Father in Heaven,
A thankful heart brings me to You
Through the privilege of prayer.
This hard day stretches out before me
I know not what testings may come.
I admit that I need Your strength;
I feel so insufficient
To face the trials before me.
I do not have clear vision,
I use poor judgment so often,
And my lack of wisdom traps me.
My sins have blinded me to truth,
Forgive my transgressions I pray.
I bring my weaknesses to You
And throw myself upon Your strength.
I bind myself to Your service
For in God I find liberty.
Give me grace during this trial.
Help me to resist temptation
Let me not sell You out like Judas
For comfort, wealth, ease or status.
Let me lose myself to gain You.
May my actions be a light.
Give me diligence for truth.
May I do that which is right.
I will proclaim the Lord is God,
And helps those who put trust in him.*

We often have hard decisions to make but God is waiting for us to bring these problems to him to allow him into our lives in a way that we would not be able to experience him otherwise. I tried to make the emphasis of this prayer poem one of trust in God giving himself to our solutions as we give ourselves to his mercy. We are often tempted to take the easy way and choose that which is expedient instead of doing what is best or right, we need God to give us a vision into the distant results of our choices. If we never had problems we would never look to God to lift us up out of them and never have the opportunity to have the passion to declare his power and grace.

I Serve You God, A Prayer, January 7

I Serve You, God. A Prayer for January 7

Almighty God, most awesome,
You have infinite power;
You rule all earth and heaven,
You are the light of mankind.
I bring to You humble thanks
For all of Your good blessings,
Truly You fill up my heart.
I praise You for Your mercy
And thank You that for providence.
I present myself to You,
A low and humble servant,
To await for Your command.
Make true my motivation,
And my devotion honest.
I am blessed by serving You
Help me to make right judgments;
Let me hear my Master's voice
Directing the way to turn.
I look to You for my care,
And protection from dangers
Against my soul and body.
Grant me such strength for today,
That I may give all my strength,
And mind, and soul to Your work.
My life is an offering.
Find pleasure in my service,
I seek not any reward-
Better than to hear you say
"Well done my faithful servant.*"

We are all serving someone be it God or ourselves or someone else. This prayer starts with praise and acknowledgment of God's sovereignty and power. The best servant knows his master best. The essence of this prayer is to be true in motivation and not to deceive yourself. It is in serving God that we are blessed. God gives us meaning and purpose he gives us work to do in his name and then rewards us for doing it.

A Prayer To Be A Positive Influence A prayer for January 15

A PRAYER TO BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE, A Prayer For January 15

O Lord, You have shown that I can trust You.
I seek Your blessing each and every day,
So I may bring its influence with me
Into the stress and strife of modern life.
Give me the gift of Your abounding strength,
So that I may conquer my own weakness.
Give me the wisdom that is from Heaven,
So I may know Your daily design,
And to fulfill my part in Your plan.
I give to You possession of my mind
So I may be inspired by Your thoughts.
May I work with You to do works of love,
So I may live the most true life I can.
Guide me with the soft touch of Your Spirit
So others may be blessed by my actions.
Help me to be truly sympathetic,
As I touch the lives of people You love.
Be my unseen adviser and tutor
As I walk among people who suffer-
And those who carry silent, secret pain.
Let my ways show that Jesus lives with me.
May I be a humble tool in Your hands
To show others the gospel of Your love.

We can be a positive influence when we give ourselves to God and ask for his guidance. We must empty ourselves of vanity and self-seeking and work as servants of God, by doing His good among our fellow man. This cannot be done alone we need God in our lives to do so.
