The prayer of one who would see God, A Prayer for July 26

O God my Father I give thanks for blessings
Which you cause to enter my life by Your goodness.
It gives me comfort that You have all knowledge
And there is noting that takes You by surprise,
Give me the stillness to hear when You whisper.
Give me the wisdom to fear Your right judgments.
Each day has problems and times of testing
So grant me guidance in all my decisions,
And give me courage for this day's troubles.
Teach me the knowledge of what You disdain,
Show me what actions will give You offense,
Each time I fail, aid me by Your power.
Help me to repent and walk fresh in Your favor.
Give me a passion to know You as holy.
I want my every deed to be for Your pleasure.
Make it my desire to serve You with zeal.
May I find wonders when you are my focus.
May I see marvels when I read your scriptures. 
Help me to perceive Your face in others.
Show me the beauties of the life of Jesus.
Make deep my desire to walk in his Spirit,
And grant my longing that I see Christ only.

The Prayer of One Who Walks With God, Prayer for the day of July 23rd

Father, may I never forget
To be thankful for Your blessings.
Each day You fill my life with good.
You watch over my welfare;
Yet, I rarely think of Your goodness.
You hear my prayers, and You provide.
But I neglect to say, "Thank you."
Make me more mindful of Your care,
And how I depend upon Your
Provision for me and my needs.
May You alone fill my vision.
Help me do more than speak Your praise
May I proclaim Your praise by deeds
And show my love to You through acts.
Today, may I know Your presence.
Teach me to better trust in You,
To listen to Your perfect Word,
And to obey Your will in all things,
And receive joy by serving You.

O Almighty God
And gracious Father,
You are the Blessed One.
You are my blessing
Please hear my prayer today.
Bless me with health
And happiness,
A wise mind,
A light heart,
A clear vision of my duties
And responsibilities,
Help me judge rightly in all things.
Guard my inexperience
And free me from self-conceit.
Make me as a little child,
That I may be wise,
To become gentle,
That I may be strong,
To be humble
That I may be Christ-like.
May I serve you each day with honor,
So my life may show my gratitude
To Him who gave his life
For my salvation.

Prayer for July 28th,

MAY GOD'S LOVE MOTIVATE ME
Prayer for July 28

O Lord, my God, I present myself to You
In the name of my Savior Jesus, Your Son.
To think of Your love yields worship from me.
Put in my heart a joyous knowledge of him
Who taught us to pray  "Abba Father," to You.
May my love for You become motive for me.
I search for You in scripture reading each day
I wait that Your dear Holy Spirit teach me,
So I may learn more about pleasing my Lord.
Let me see Him with clearer vision each day,
Teach me to love in every manner of Christ
Let it be in my thinking, doing, and word.
May I serve You by serving others I meet
So I may keep my Master's command of love.
Let my will be to only fulfill Your will.
May I learn not to possess blessings as mine-
I know I have been given blessings to bless.
May all who serve Your gospel unite as one
That we may help bring Heaven's Kingdom of Love.

Prayer To Live This Day Well
A Prayer For July 27th

My God and Father, You fill me with wonder,
In fear and reverence, I come to give worship.
It makes me humble to think of Your glory.
May I live today as if this were my finish;
For You are coming soon to take Your people,
Or I may depart if You call me homeward.
Make my heart righteous in thought and motive,
And make my conscience clear of acts which offend,
Where I err- forgive as I seek Your mercy,
For it is Jesus' blood that takes my sins away.
Help me live wisely not just for this world,
And to put heaven in my acts and choices.
If this day concludes my life as a pilgrim,
May You say "Faithful and well done my servant."*

A PRAYER TO KNOW GOD'S LOVE IN MY TRIALS
A Daily Prayer For July 7

Dear God and Father, thank you.
I thank You because You love,
No one is worthy of it
But You love because of You.
When the dark troubles touch me
Give me a vision of Christ,
And keep my focus on him-
Not on what decays with time.
Your love has designed each task
Your grace is enough for me.
When I face trials and tests;
Then I look to the empty tomb, 
And know my Victor lives on.
Let Your Spirit guide me
May Your Word direct my thoughts.
May I bring glory to You
In all my actions and words.

THE PRAYER OF GRATEFUL PURPOSE
A Prayer For July 3rd

My God and Father, I rejoice each day
For You have rescued my future from sin.
I face no judgment now because of Christ.
I go through today with gladness in heart,
And with a purpose, I never dreamed of.
May all my actions be pleasing to You.
Help me to obey Your command to serve
And share the Gospel of mercy and grace.
Show me those workers who labor for You
That I may partner by prayer for them,
And put my shoulder to burdens they bear,
May I help conquer the darkness by love
So that Your kingdom comes quickly to men.

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10.

A PRAYER FOR GOD'S GRACE IN DAILY LIVING
A Prayer for July 20

Oh, God, You are infinite wisdom
But I am a shortsighted creature.
I lean on Your beautiful kindness
And look for Your generous bounty.
Life is full of uncertain choices,
Give me Your clear guidance today;
I know not if happiness awaits,
Or will I meet tremendous sorrow-
But Your grace is sufficient always.*
Grace is such a merciful wonder
That You grant the repentant sinner;
A gift bought by measureless treasure
And paid by the Crucified Savior.
How can I be possibly worthy
Of such great and unbounded favor?
Let my life be gratitude's expression.
May I learn to appreciate trials-
For in each need I discover blessings.
Let grace give me dependence fully
Grant grace when I'm stumbling over
A path made of temptations abounding.
Fill me with grace whenever losses
Add up and bring depression's malaise.
If I share in victory's triumph
Let grace keep me steadfastly humble
And make my life glorify Jesus.

The Bible says. "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves it is a gift of God not of works so no man may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. We are saved by grace and it is by grace that we continue to live our lives.

Prayer Of One In Tears, Prayer For July 17th

PRAYER OF ONE IN TEARS
Prayer for July 17

Oh, Lord, I know You are all-knowing;
I look to the God of all comfort,
None but You see how bad I feel.
I know my tears do not fall unseen,
But are shared by Christ, my yoke-fellow.
This is a time of loss and grieving-
In this hurt, I trust Your wisdom.
I know that this pain has a purpose.
In this test help me to be faithful
With time the hurt will turn to blessing
I will praise You when this is finished,
Though the night is full of my weeping
You will give me joy in the morning.*


A little commentary:
We can count on God's comfort when we grieve. We can trust in his wisdom and his mercy. He has a purpose and a plan and in the end, we will be able to praise him joyfully.

Prayer to Hold Fast, Prayer for July 25th

PRAYER TO HOLD FAST
Prayer for July 25

Oh, Holy God, You are my anchor.
I always find You to be steady.
But daily I turn to grasp for freedom
And often in test I just stumble.
It's because I am at heart a rebel.
Lord, rescue me from my own folly
And instruct me how to be faithful.
When any test of faith should arrive
Then remind me of Your great goodness,
And restrict my heart from doubting.
Please strengthen my faith with great resolve
For quitting You is not an option.
To fail brings shame to Jesus
Who endured the cross for all mankind.
Your honor must be my prime object
And glory to God be my passion.


There are many things we look to for support and to keep us from drifting. God is the object. We do not hold on to him as much as he holds onto us. Jesus said of his children that "...no one shall snatch them out of the Father's hand." John 10:29.There are times when we are tested or doubt but we can be confident that God will not forsake us.

Prayer To Hear God's Guidance, Prayer for July 1

A PRAYER TO HEAR GOD'S GUIDANCE
Prayer for July 1

My Father God all-knowing,
Your wisdom is my guidance;
Give insight for each moment,
And brighten the dark pathway.
For without Your clear command
I stumble and go astray.
In stillness, I wait patient,
I listen to your whisper*
And follow Your promptings
To direct my heart God-ward.
I'm longing to be closer;
Let nothing keep me away-
Not sinful words or actions.
May oneness with God hallmark
My doing, thoughts, and motives.


This is a simple poem I used a pattern of word syllables to give it rhythm.

The prayer asks God to guide us by speaking to our hearts. We know he has given guidance and principles to live by in the Bible but sometimes we must wait quietly for him to speak to us and prompt us the right way to go. God's guidance will always bring us closer to God the Father through Jesus his son, and to know him better for that is his ultimate purpose. Jesus said, "The work of God is this; to believe in the one he has sent." John 6:29, NIV.

A PRAYER FOR CONTENTMENT
A Prayer For July 21

Oh, Lord God, all blessing comes from you,
And it is Your pleasure to give gifts.
But keep me from wanting all that I see.
I need to be content with what You give,
Help me to believe You give the best,
Teach me how to discern needs from wants,
And to trust the measure of Your hand.
At times, You must withhold things I want
But I know Your wisdom guides the way.
Do not let me consume all You send,
For You give these blessings to be shared.
Show me what true treasures I now have,
They, too, are but shadows of the best.
I call on the promises in Your Word,*
That You are what satisfies all my needs.
Wealth does not long endure this short life
But that sent to heaven will not end.

The Lord is what satisfies and we need to learn that he is the one who is the fulfillment of our desires.

PRAYER TO SEE GOD'S WAY
Prayer for July 15

Oh, my Father God You are tender.
Thank You for the life and death of Christ
By which salvation is bought for me.
Grant to me this day a faithful heart
And help me to trust all Your good ways.
Help me to remember Your kindness.
I am blind to sin in my own heart;
Find and purge away that secret sin,
For then will I see clearly Your way.
Teach me to obey Your wise teachings.
Help me to accept all that You give
With sureness that Your gifts are the best.
Give my heart a peaceful trust in you,
Knowing that "all things work together
For the Good to those who love God and 
Are called According to his purpose."*
Let my words be gracious, true and kind,
And my deeds upright- worthy of You.
May I live the compassion of Christ.
Show me the suffering of other men,
Strengthen me to lift their burdens free.
Let me never judge another man-
When we both have life by Your mercy.
Help me live out the way of Your love
That men may see the tender Father.


Jesus said, "I am the Way the Truth and the life," (see John  14:6)  "There is a way that is right to a man but the end is destruction." (Proverbs 14;12) God has a plan and a way we should live we are often blind by our sin from seeing his way. When we confess and repent we are ready for God to show his way for us to go.

A PRAYER FOR A HIGHER CALLING
Prayer for the day of July 10

Lord, You are God in heaven;
I thank You for Your blessings
Such as life, love, and reason.
I am small in this world;
You are God- none is greater,
Deep in You, I find refuge.
Your hand can hold the heavens,
Yet Your arms wrap a child;
Your love drives fear far away.
Grant me faith, and high vision,
And Your Spirit of power.
Give me clear thought and wisdom.
Make my heart true and humble,
To act as Your servant,
And be to all a brother.
Fill my acts with Your courage,
Yet grace my words with kindness.
Make my cause to be righteous;
As I seek to do great things,
That I may bring You glory.
Help me to know my Savior,
He who is my yoke partner.*
And who bears up my burdens.
Make my plans and dreams noble
So that I may be worthy
Of the death that bought mercy.

A Prayer Of A Kingdom Citizen. Prayer for July 5

My Father, Lord God, ruler of all days;
No man knows what a day may bring to him-
But You know the end from the beginning.
Thank You that You are watching over me.
Make my faith large to trust myself to You,
Help me fulfill my responsibilities
As a good citizen of God's kingdom.*
May I live not just to make a living
But also to live a life worthy of Christ.
May I learn from the Humble Carpenter
Who was the very glory of Heaven.
When I forget You my tasks are joyless,
So be You the heart of all that I do.
Let me hunger and thirst for righteousness,
And have passion as I share Your love.
May I hear no voice but Your soft Spirit,
And serve no other king but You, My God.
Set me free from the cares of this world
With eyes turned to Your unending kingdom.

Our true citizenship is in God's kingdom and our ultimate allegiance is to the King and Creator of us all.

THE PRAYER OF A PARENT, Prayer for July 8

Dear Father, I thank You for this day before me.
Its light awoke me with gladness and gratitude;
Help me to be grateful and worthy of Your gifts,
O Lord, I am thankful above all for this household;
What I am to my little ones, You are to me;
And what my children are to me, I am to You.
To think of it, love sweeps through me like the summer.
Thank you that I may know the joy of Your favor,
And that I feel the comfort of Your care.
In fatherly parenthood, You come close to me
And like a child, I always draw close to You.
Put Your blessing on my children and those I love,
Make each of us worthy of Your generous love.
We have received from God so we may give to others.
I mourn and grieve for my harsh words and unkind acts,
Even as I am sorry for my many faults hurt those I love.
Please forgive every transgression both large and small,
For every indifference and sin is against You.
Give me wisdom to love and shepherd these- Your lambs.
Watch over this family and keep us today.
Grant us Your blessing and your abundant grace
Not because we are more deserving than others,
But because Jesus is the true head of our house,
And may each member faithfully serve him always.
