I thank You for every blessing of life,

May I realize Your purpose for me.

May Your Holy Spirit ever guide me.
And show the tasks you have prepared for me.
May Your love for me constrain me to serve.
I commit myself and all I have and
All I am with all my heart to Your care,
And would ask for Your blessing and guidance.
And finally, take me to be with You and all the redeemed.
And hear You say, "Well done, Faithful Servant."

My Father and God, I am grateful
To know You through Jesus Christ my Lord.
I praise You for Your loving kindness
And thank You for Your tender mercies.
I will rejoice that You are faithful
And You will never leave nor forsake me.
As I step out to face a new day
I look to You, for You are my helper.
Strengthen me to overcome my fears.
Show me the right pathway that I should take
That I may fulfill Your good will for me
And welcome opportunities to serve.
Help me to earn my living honestly
But not so busy that I forget You.
May I live every day for You in love
With a passion for doing great things for You.

A Prayer Of Worship And Faith
August 12

Oh God My Father You are the One Almighty
And yet You shine upon me the light of your countenance.
May You find favor with my poor words of devotion.
I am so grateful to have found forgiveness,
And I am humbled to think that the price of salvation
Is that my Jesus was the one crucified-
With his own body, He paid for my transgressions.
He makes me worthy to be in your family.
Through him, I approach and see Your face unveiled.
Give me wisdom and a heart of integrity
Give me courage in the hour of temptation,
And in my trials may You be my victory.
May I not forget You make all things possible.
Help me to always do Your will with cheerfulness
May Christ, my beloved, come soon to rule in majesty
And Let his kingdom bring us peace and unity,
As all the nations bow the knee in reverence,
And each man's heart will serve You joyfully.

A Thankful Prayer. Prayer for August 23rd

I praise You As my Father and Maker
And that Your hand gives every good blessing,
And You give love that never will fail.
Just to know You is better than riches
Teach me to see Your goodness more clearly.
I see my need to become more grateful.
Thank You, dear God, for sending my Savior,
He who died and gave himself for mankind
I grieve that it is easy to forget;.
Thank You for the sun's rising and setting,
For the stars; clouds and passing of seasons,
For the light of day guiding me safely,
And the light that shines within my spirit.
Help me in peace to receive your blessings.
Thank You for all my kinships and friendships,
And that I may have Jesus as brother,
I thank You for peace within my spirit-
This peace You give the world can't perceive;
It is one that can't be taken or ended,
For it comes by Your goodness and mercy.
May Your peace rule all peoples and nations.

Oh, My Gracious God, Lord, and Sovereign
What a comfort to call you, Father!
I am grateful that You are goodness
And so needful of Your kindness.
I am thankful for Your wise guidance
And I delight that You so provide.
May Your Spirit lead me with patience
As I await to hear His whisper.*
I am ready to give You service

Bless my desire to bring You honor
Give me passion yet bound by wisdom.
Let a vision to serve Your kingdom
Be the reason for all my choices.
Bless my longing to be like Jesus
So that loving acts may flow outward.
May my actions of love be common
As if nothing else was an option.
May it direct men to the Gospel.
I am aware I am not able
That I become such a kind person-
But the power comes from my Savior.
I now freely give to You myself
So that others may give You glory.

Oh, God and Father of all mankind
To be your child is a blessing
For you are watching me each moment.
You are the Light that guides homeward,
And shows Your Children the true pathway.
In You is a refuge for the lonely,
For those with sorrow, You are comfort.
You have been leading me with kindness.
My days past declare You are faithful;
Doors that were locked You have opened.
When I face danger, You have rescued.
Your hand has guided me with sureness.
The good I enjoy You have given.
In times of trouble, You were present,
Then You were closer and not distant.
You give me power in my weakness.
May I give service as time shortens
And keep my vision on my Savior
May each duty be more joyous
And all a service to my Jesus.

A Thanksgiving Prayer
August 25


Oh, Father, You are the God of all blessings.
No other is so full of rich goodness,
Or constant in such love mixed with mercy.
I offer these, my poor words of worship,
To express how much my heart is grateful.
I'm thankful, for I know You are watching,
In struggles, You are there as my helper.
You supply all my needs with great bounty.
You protect from the one who does evil
And comfort each time I fall in testing.
You redeem my soul from sin's hot judgment,
And promise life with the hope of Heaven
Through Jesus, who I trust as my Savior.
You provide grace so I can give service.
Your design for my life is full of blessings.
I'm grateful for all that You have given,
And those You things kept back by Your wisdom.

The Prayer Of The Penitent Believer, For August 10

Oh, God the Father of all mercy;
I come so guilty to Your courtroom,
The name of Jesus gives me entry-
For his death rescued me from judgment.
I want to confess I have transgressed;
Sins fill my thinking and my motives,
My words so fail Your good command,
And my deeds wander from Your statutes.
I groan in sorrow for wrong actions.
You are all mercy, Please, Lord, forgive
For by the basis of Christ's expense;
Whose blood is payment for man's offence.
Grant me peace unknown in earth's darkness,
May I give service that is righteous-
Let my poor worship show I'm thankful,
And may my efforts show I'm grateful,
So I bring glory to my Savior.



When we come to Jesus to be saved we are cleansed from all sin in the sight of God's judgment. But we still stumble in our daily lives. We do not need to be saved again, but we do need a cleansing of the sin so fellowship can be restored and we can return to service, (John 13:1-14).

A Prayer To Do Right, A Prayer for August 11

Righteous true God, You are my light,
Humble I come and ask for grace.
Forgive the times I turn from You.
Struggles to do wrong shout at me,
Tempting me in thought and in deed,
Passions seems to take up my heart.
Prevent that I do the wrong act.
Power to do right comes from You.
Create in me a new clean heart,*
Remind me You are near my side,
Renew in me a view of love.
Abide in my thought and my word,
Direct my heart to love the good.
Remove the fog that hides the need,
Display to me where I should serve.
Permit that I go forth with peace-
Bearing Your good news of new life,
Open my eyes to works of love.
Strengthen me to live such a life
Filled with good deeds which say, "Yes...
Worthy are You, that I do right."


* Psalm 51:10

We all struggle to do right. But that is what proves that God is worthy of our lives. If challenges did not come we would not grow in character or in our understanding of the greatness of God. When we do right it is a statement that we believe in right and therefore a testimony to God.

A Prayer To Live Above The Struggles Of Life, A prayer for August 3rd

Oh God, adored, I ask, uphold me now
By Your gracious and all-mighty strong arm.
Give me blessings that are correct for me.
Let no jealous thought of others tempt me.
Help me endure each day's trials by faith;
I know testing may hide treasures so rare.
In hard trials keep the promise You spoke
"That in all things You are working for good."*
Give me holy and pure ideals to live
So I become the one making a change,
And not descend to the common man's ways,
Or be buried in the struggle to cope.
Let me conform to Your loving good plan
And not wander from the pilgrim's hard path.
In my darkness shine Your brightness of truth
That my motives will be expunged of wrong.
Make me steadfast as I obey Your Word.
May I proclaim Your cross before all men
With a thankful heart of peaceful bright hope.
May I always seek to perform kind acts,
And speak gentle words of Christian love,
May I declare Christ through many good deeds,
And give glory to him- Jesus my King.

May God Watch Over Me. Prayer for August 31

Oh, Lord, my Father! I worship!
For You have watched me over;
You see my coming and going.
You give me shelter and mercy.
Bring to my pathway Your vision.
Guide me to actions of service,
Give me all wisdom in choices;
And grace when I fail in trials.
When I act wrongly, please forbear,
Purge the secret sins of my heart.
May my acts proclaim You honor,
Let not one blessing be wasted,
Or a good venture be misspent,
As You walk beside me today
I find joy knowing You're watching.

May God's Will Be Done, A Prayer for August 9

Almighty God and most merciful Father,
I start today conscious of my weakness,
And look to Your supreme and sovereign power.
Thank you that You've given me another day,
I believe You know and plan all my moments.
For all Your care and protection, I praise You;
Watch over me in the light and the shadow,
For both day and night hide nothing from you.*
I surrender my will to Your perfect will.
Prepare me for the mission You have for me,
And make me fit for greater acts of service.
May I not fail to fill Your plans for me;
If I do- gently correct and restore me.
If disappointments, sorrows, or grief should come
Give me sustaining grace to bear those burdens,
And to learn the lessons they are sent to teach.
Make me faithful in every duty You bring;
And true to Your claim for my obedience.
Make me respond to every righteous calling,
Be it to God or to those around me.
Bring darkness and sunshine alike as You will,
May they build and ennoble my character.
Let me serve You today as an heir of life;
And be more like Christ, who for me, gave his life
That by his sacrifice, I might have a new life.
In the name of him, whose blood saves- Jesus Christ.

In this poem/prayer, I reflect on how God has a plan for our lives and a plan for each day. God's plan has many purposes in our lives; part of it is to grow his kingdom, and part of it is to grow us to be more like Jesus. God's plan may not always be easy or hard to understand, but since God is good, His plan for us is good even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.

*Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. Psalm 139:12 JKV

Eternal Father, how truly wonderful
That I am Your child
Through the death of Your Son Jesus Christ.
Thank You, that though You were my Creator;
You also became my Redeemer.
Thank You that all
Who accept Jesus as Savior
May become part of Your family.
Thank You, that You,
Share my sorrows and my joys.
Thank you for Your Holy Word;
May I give time to it,
And let Your Spirit give light
That I may understand it.
Give me a hunger for righteousness
In my thoughts and actions.
Grant me wisdom in friendships.
Help me to trust You in the dark moments
And to be confident in your Divine will.
May my acts of service to You,
And to others, bring glory to Your name;
Both in heaven and here on earth.

Oh, Eternal Loving One,
How wonderful! I may call you Father!
Yet also I know You as my Companion,
And the Friend that is closer than a Brother.
Thank You for being with me every moment,
And help me to remember You are here with me.
Thank You for the comfort Your nearness brings.
May I hear the voice of Your Spirit today
And help me to not quench his promptings.
Show me my shortcomings gently in love
And direct me where I need to make change.
Strengthen me to obey You today,
With all my heart and no compromise.
And bless, oh Lord, my service to You.
Direct my mind to be full of light and hope,
May I think of the good You have done for me.
Free my lips to sing and praise You often.
May I, with God's help, serve others this day
And every day through my Lord Christ Jesus.

O God, My Gracious Father,
I look to You alone for blessing.
I am poor in spirit and bankrupt in soul.
But You are always  faithful to me;
You treat me with love and kindness.
Your touch is of many mercies.
Everlasting Lord
Teach me that my time here is brief.
May I set my eyes on heaven
And my heart on the eternal hope
Through the blood of Jesus.
Help me stay faithful to my Lord
All through my days.
And when I cross that last threshold
And come into Your Presence
I know that with  joy and gladness
I will be with my Savior and Lord
Forever.

In Your power is all the moments of eternity.
From You, God, alone come goodness and wisdom.
You give the perfect love, that our hearts desire.
Show Your love and blessing to the poor in spirit.
Show Your mercy to the suffering on this poor earth.
Your love causes me to love, and ask "How may I serve."
You give all the blessings I enjoy, I thank You.
And where blessings have been withheld I will trust You.
Be merciful in my weakness and give me grace to last.
You understand when I have doubts and wanderings.
May I work for Your kingdom and the good of others.
In all things I do today may Your name be great,
And may I be happily lost in the shadow of Your love

Dear God, You have no limits
There are no limits in who You are,
And nothing limits what You can do.
I'm too small to understand You;
Yet You give thought to little me,
And bring rich blessings in my life.
Thinking of You fills me with joy.

Yet I wander from Your mercies.
Forgive me for my defiance,
Cleanse me through the blood of Jesus.
May I be a blessing to others today.
Thank You for occasions to serve.
Your goodness to me has no limits,
Be my dearest companion today,
And counsel my every decision.
May I put no limits on You,
And see Your hand in every detail.
