Contentment a poem |
Contentment And Stuff, A Poem
You can’t weigh contentment on a scale of stuff.
This is a measure that says, "You don’t have enough,"
Or, "Go shopping there is someone else who has more!"
But stuff will never make you happy in your core.
You can't be content in pride that you don’t have a lot,
Someone else is more proud of all they haven't got.
Contentment from possessions ends up in nothing,
Satisfaction is not in things we are getting.
True happiness comes when you focus your heart right.
So, make the love of your heart heaven's truth and light,
And dedicate your mind to pursue things above;
Instead of living for things of brief earthly love.

"Do not store up treasures for yourself on earth where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, But store up for yourself treasure in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6 19-20
