COME, A Poem

A poem
This is a short poem written by the poet of faith. It uses several scriptural references to draw people and to see what is the message of Jesus in one word.

I am very glad that it was selected for publication by the Lutheran Journal in 2006

To Peter the Rock
in the boat
Jesus says. “Come.”
To the rich ruler
with Questions
Jesus says, “Come.”
To Lazarus
in the tomb
Jesus says, “Come.”
To the thirsty
in this life
Jesus says, “Come.”
To all of us
where we are
Jesus says, “Come
unto me
all who labor
and are heavy laden
and I will give you rest
for your souls."
